Description Great Northern Railroad Relocation- This view of the fill and track at Station 573, which slid out on March 14, was taken from the county road on the south side of the draw and about 300 feet west of the track. The twisted rails can be seen part way down the slide. The slide with its accumulation of dirt, rock, and tress did not come to a stop until some of the material had traveled half of a mile, to the toe of the highway fill below. Format Original photographic prints scanned at 24 bit color, with 4000 pixels by the long side, for master TIFF files on an Epson Expression 10,000 XL scanner. Prints were then batch translated into JPEG files. These JPEGs were then added to the CONTENTdm database at WSU Libraries.
