| Description | The time standard for the regulation of generator speed is a master clock in the control room of the left powerhouse. The block is driven by energy from a storage battery. A feeble pulsating electric current, generated by a 60-cycle tuning fork, and amplified by vacuum tubes, supplies the clock motor with accurately timed impulses from the storage battery, and thus determines the lock speed.
