Description | View looking downstream over the reservoir area from WPA Camp Gifford, taken from a point at elevation 1290, the ultimate high-water line of the reservoir. Burning of the debris piles in the foreground will complete all clearing seen in this view. The clearing of the Columbia River Reservoir was one of the largest projects undertaken by the WPA. Completed in December 1941, the project took three years total to finish. |

Format | Original photographic prints scanned at 24 bit color, with 4000 pixels by the long side, for master TIFF files on an Epson Expression 10,000 XL scanner. Prints were then batch translated into JPEG files. These JPEGs were then added to the CONTENTdm database at WSU Libraries. |
