| Description | Excavation and removal of overburden in progress on the left tailrace slide area. Excavation has been completed down to the elevation at which the shovels are working. The excavation and removal process depicted began in 1940 and was continued throughout 1941 on a daily basis by three shifts of workers. By completion in August, 1941 total excavated material amounted to 1,08,696 cubic yards of common material and 66,178 cubic yards of rock. |
