Description | Clearing operations in progress in the Columbia River Reservoir area by W.P.A. crew. Stumps and logs too small to be sold are pushed into pits and burned. WPA forces continued to clear land throughout 1940. By the close of 1940 clearing operations were 79% complete, grubbing operations were 71 percent complete, and logging of merchantable timber was 79% complete (CBPH, vol. VIII, pg. 34) |

Format | Original photographic prints scanned at 24 bit color, with 4000 pixels by the long side, for master TIFF files on an Epson Expression 10,000 XL scanner. Prints were then batch translated into JPEG files. These JPEGs were then added to the CONTENTdm database at WSU Libraries |
