Title | Drum Gate Hinges |
Description | The drum gate is hinged on castings anchored along the upstream side of a recess in the spillway crest. In the lowered or open position, the drum gate rests in the recess or chamber with its upper or upstream side forming the smooth curve of the spillway crest. To erect the drum gate, the contractor built a timber platform in this recess, on which the gate is assembled in the closed or upright position.
