| Description | The bus structure base which will support the heavy power conductors leading to the pumping plant. The steel dowels are for the concrete walls of the box-like gallery structure, which will enclose the conductors and which will be built at some future date. On the left, in the downstream face of the dam, are the 24-inch diameter drain outlets for the twist adjustment slot between blocks 9 and 10. Though workers began preliminary work on the bus structure in 1938, concrete placement and major construction did not begin till 1939. |
