Description | The 1939 flood stage of the Columbia River is diverted over low blocks in the spillway section of Grand Coulee Dam. Concrete placing, which is in progress on either side of the spillway, will be resumed therein when the flood waters subside. To the 6,330,000 cu. yds. of concrete in the structure, Consolidated Builders will add 2,700,000 cu. yds. to increase the grand total to more than 9,000,000 cu. yds. before the close of the year.
