| Description | Workman operating a chipping hammer. Defective concrete areas on the downstream face of the dam and elsewhere are chipped out, and the void filled with new concrete. Workers would chip out defective or cracked areas of concrete on the downstream face of the dam and fill them in with new concrete to prevent leaks, erosion, or wear. |
