| Description | The downstream of one of the el. 934 conduits showing condition of concrete prior to refinishing. The circular blockouts at the contraction joints are also visible. Upon completion of concrete cooling and contraction joint grouting in this area the blockouts will be backfilled with concrete. The M-W-A-K company did not completely finish the downstream portions of the el. 934 outlet tunnel. Engineers decided to refinish the concrete because of air and water pockets under Extra Work Order No. 3. Work on refinishing outlet tunnels began in December 1938 and continued into the new year.(Columbia Basin History Vol. 6, 216) |
