| Description | Excavation in progress on the pumping plant foundations and in nine of the twelve pumping plant discharge tunnels. Excavation continued into 1938 primarily in the upper areas of the Grand Coulee construction site that would support the upper portion of this monolithic structure and in supporting structures like the pumping plant that would eventually deliver irrigation waters to the Columbia River Watershed. |
