Title | Pumping Plant Foundation Excavation |
Description | A rock crew working on the pumping plant foundation. A general program of blasting and excavating a successive series of benches, the back wall of which was trimmed to the specified slope of 1/4 to 1, was followed. Excavation continued into 1938 primarily in the upper areas of the Grand Coulee construction site that would support the upper portion of this monolithic structure and in supporting structures like the pumping plant that would eventually deliver irrigation waters to the Columbia River Watershed. |
