Description | In November 1938, the contractor's construction trestle with deck at el. 1180 spans mass concrete in the dam totaling about 5,200,000 cubic yards. At the left powerhouse, the transformer structure concrete has been completed to elevation 1012.5 and a temporary construction deck laid thereon. An access railroad track extending from this deck to a connection with the U.S. Construction R. R. powerhouse spur has also been completed. Long view of Grand Coulee Dam site with elevation 1180 construction trestle completed and ready for construction. |
