Field Value
Title Cofferdam Leak
Description Dumping fill on river-side of cluster "G" at time of cofferdam leak. To correct the collapse of Cofferdam cluster "G" the contractor dumped all kinds of fill material, mainly rock and gravel, into the river side of the "G" cells, until the leakage slowed considerably. They then built steel piling sheets and drilled and grouted the remaining cofferdam cells to reinforce their structure and stop the leak. A total of 109 holes was drilled for grouting purposes, 91 were 4 inches in diameter while 18 were 6 inches.
