Description | Block 11-A showing section of 900 elevation gallery form, and in lower right a portion of grouting and drainage gallery. Upright pipes in block are 5-inch porous drain pipes. Workers are reinforcing the block containing the gallery form, which is a tunnel that transverses the length of the dam to allow access to wiring, drainage pipes, and the penstock valves and doors vital for maintenance and operation of the monolithic concrete structure. |
