Description Excavating in bedrock west of block 40. Steel piling in section "D" of west cofferdam to the right. Photograph shows a multitude of workers involved in excavation activities behind the timber crib and the west cofferdam. Excavation activities continued behind a protective steel piling structure that boxed in the men and made mechanized concrete placement difficult. The concentration of men needed for manual concrete placement and excavation activities slowed the project, till a sufficient height of concrete was reached to remove the obstructive timber cribs to commence with mechanized...

Format Original photographic prints were scanned at 24 bit 3000 pixels by the long side for master TIFF files on an Epson Expression 10,000 XL scanner. While 24 bit 150 PPI JPEG also created and added to the CONTENTdm database at the WSU Libraries.
