| Description | Rock excavation for block 39. Timber crib plug between block 40 and section "G" of west cofferdam and center tower of aggregate conveyor suspension bridge in the rear. Photograph shows a multitude of workers involved in excavation activities behind the timber crib and the west cofferdam. Excavation activities continued behind a protective steel piling structure that boxed in the men and made mechanized concrete placement difficult.
