Description | 1 map : 7 x 18 cm. On recto: http://kaga.wsulibs.wsu.edu/zoom/zoom.php?map=wsu292 When the railroad came through in the 1880s, Sprague was so named by Northern Pacific officials for Gen. John Sprague, railway director. It had formerly known been as Hoodooville, after a local 'character'. Sprague boomed in the 1880s due to the railroad, but that was its peak, and it gradually receded in status thereafter. |
