Description | 1 map: blueprint, hand col., 21 x 14 cm. This map shows a proposed railroad connecting Lewiston, Idaho, and Homestead, Oregon, up the Hells River Canyon along the Snake River. As Homestead was connected to Ontario, Oregon via a Union Pacific built track, this would have allowed for the direct delivery of goods along the Snake, where previously they'd been forced to travel many miles west around the canyon. For whatever reasons, this railroad was never built. |
