Description 1 map: col., 34 x 45 cm. This map, published by A.J. Johnson and his partner, Ward, shows the State of Oregon (entered into the Union in 1859), and Washington Territory. By 1865 the eastern border of Washington Territory had been defined, with Idaho's western border set after its official territorial status came in 1863. Format Original maps were scanned in color at 600 dpi on a Microtek 9600XL scanner and saved as TIFF files. The TIFF files were converted into the MrSID format at a compression ratio of 12 to 1 using LizardTech's Geospatial Encoder 1.4 software. These MrSid files were then uploaded into the CONTENTdm database at the Washington State University Libraries. image/jpeg
