Description 1 map: col., 35 x 42 cm. This map shows the borders of the Territory of Washington (1853-1889) and Oregon State (territory from 1848 to 1859). F.A. Gray, the author of this map, is the son of Ormando Willis Gray, a mapmaker in Philadelphia. Very little is known of their partnership. However, O.W. Format Original maps were scanned in color at 600 dpi on a Microtek 9600XL scanner and saved as TIFF files. The TIFF files were converted into the MrSID format at a compression ratio of 12 to 1 using LizardTech's Geospatial Encoder 1.4 software. These MrSid files were then uploaded into the CONTENTdm database at the Washington State University Libraries. image/jpeg
