Title Caisson Barge Model
Description This is a full-operating model of the floating caisson barge used to repair the spillway bucket. The walls of the work chamber are shaped to fit the contour of the bucket, and are equipped with wide rubber seals. After being floated into position it is sunk by admitting water to the ballast tanks. As the caisson sinks into the water the work deck is raised by drum hoists, so that it is always a safe distance above the water level. After final positioning, the water is pumped from the work...
