Description Here is shown the dam as it appeared in June of 1940, with the river at flood stage, having a flow of 265,000 second feet. The debris behind the boom in the forebay is material that has drifted downstream from clearing operations in the reservoir area. The contractor wanted to release this material over the dam, but a conflict of opinion as to the responsibility for possible damage downstream caused the abandonment of this idea.
