Description In the spring of 1941 construction of a new highway bridge, and also a railroad bridge, was started from the south bank of the Columbia River at Kettle Falls. The highway bridge was to replace the one in the foreground, which was not high enough to escape the backwater of the reservoir, and the railroad bridge replaced the one flooded out at Marcus, Wn.
