| Description | This is a Fuller-Kinyon pump unloading bulk cement directly from the car into the silo. By means of mercoid switches in the bell-shaped "wand" the operator holds in his hand, he is able to control the operation of all five of the motors on the machine, moving it in any direction or changing the rate of feed by merely tilting his hand. Investigations conducted in the U.S.B.R. laboratory at Denver, Colo. culminated in the specifications for Grand Coulee Dam cement, and were principally... Machine picked up cement from the car by means of electric motors turning a screw similar to a meat grinder. Once in the main chamber the machine used compressed air to deposit the cement into the gravity fed silo. Each pump could operate at 600 barrels per hour and the record for unloading was set on November 01, 1939 by C.B.I. for emptying 130 carloads of cement in one day through one Fuller-Kinyon Pump.
