Completing Cross River Cofferdam

Washington State University Libraries

Field Value
Title Completing Cross River Cofferdam
Description After completion of the cross-river cofferdams the enclosed water will be pumped out, and construction of the east end of the dam continued out until it meets block 40 just upstream to the right of the conveyor suspension bridge tower. The ultimate height of the dam will extend to the base of the "Safety Pays" sign seen on the cliffs above the east abutment; an almost unbelievable height at this stage of construction.
