| Description | This is the beginning of the downstream arm of the Westside cofferdam, in December of 1934. This structure was destined to be the largest of its kind ever constructed. The importance of the cofferdams installed during the first contract can hardly be over stated, for upon their triumph or failure the success of the whole undertaking depended.
