Description | Here steelworkers are closing the MWAK high trestle above one of the deep crevasses in the east side bedrock. The zig-zag trough system, with the long rubber and canvas tube or "elephant trunk" on the end, seen inside the left tower prevents the segregation of the components of the concrete in its descent from the dumping platform to the forms for the tower footings. Beneath the safety net in the middle of the picture can be seen two of the pump discharge lines used to unwater this east side...
