Relation Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; the extent to which Jor dor jon jordanelle dordanelle dardanelle danelle can benefit deer creek reservoir water quality appears to be related to in reservoir management as much as to its construction A multilevel or variable withdrawal structure is being proposed by the bureau of reclamation proper operation will allow the discharge water to be of such a quality to best meet desired water quality conditions indeer andeer in deer creek reservoir and the provo river at certain times of the year phosphorus laden water wi11 will witt be flushed through the system different management techniques will result in significantly different water quality at jordanelle Jor danelle reservoir and consequently at deer creek reservoir there appears to be a lack of consensus concerning the water quality that will exist in the north arm of jordanelle Jor danelle reservoir during most years this arm may be highly eutrophic and under anoxic oxygen dep depletion letion cletion conditions could leach metals from the reservoir sediments the bureau of reclamation has recognized this difficulty and has planned alternative in reservoir management scheides schemes scheines for such conditions including aeration of water in this arm most scientists working on this water quality issue believe that the jordanelle Jor danelle reservoir conditions will be similar to those at deer creek reservoir most agree that the water quality at deer creek reservoir will be better with jordanelle Jor danelle than without jordanelle Jor danelle and agree that proper reservoir management could make this difference considerable the potential for leaching of mineralized zones has been considered to a limited extent by the bureau of reclamation the bureau has found no areas of acidic water ph less than 7 therefore the bureau has not been concerned that groundwater discharge into the reservoir would carry le achates from mineralized areas in early january 1984 the state bureau of solid and hazardous vlaste waste taste was informed that mill tailings were located within the proposed jordanelle Jor danelle 97
