| Relation | Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; this amount of water would be available to these communities from surpluses of provo citys cites established right with the foregoing arrangements these county and metropolitan entities should be adequately supplied with water until the year 2000 by that time it wouldbe wouldve would be expected that additional water supplies could be provided to all the entities from a state water project which would utilize surplus supplies of the bear river this proposed alternative to the jordanelle Jor danelle reservoir is only conceptual at this time many far reaching assumptions are made in describing this alternative that would need extensive study for example the bates or pine valley sites site sltes s would require detailed geologic studies to determine if a dam could be built secondly the described agreements have concurrence in principle only extensive negotiations are still needed before any exchanges could be finalized C WALLSBURG TUNNEL ma many ny critics of the central utah project suggest the wallsburg Walls burg tunnel is a viable alternative to the jordanelle jor danelle dam and reservoir the bureau of reclamation briefly addressed this alternative in the 1979 final environmental impact statement on the municipal and industrial system background the bureau of reclamation states that the construction and operation of Jor jordanelle jordanetie Jorda danelle neTie nevie nevle danette reservoir is not dependent on the water supply developed by the diking of utah lake or on construction of features of the diamond fork power system it does however provide the flexibility for these two systems to be constructed at a later date and be operated at maximum efficiency the wallsburg walls burg tunn tunnel el project which is an alternative to jordanelle Jor danelle reservoir would eliminate much of this operational flexibility also the jordanelle Jor danelle 91 |
