Relation Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; october 1984 is entitled deer creek and jordanelle Jor danelle reservoir water quality management plan this plan is the result of the governors july 9 1979 mandate that committed the state to develop a plan to assure the water quality protection of deer creek reservoir and the proposed jordanelle danelle Jor reservoir funding to produce this plan was provided to the state by the bureau of reclamation and the central utah water conservancy district wasatch county has the lead in developing the plan that describes in detail pollution control measures that need to be taken many individuals and agencies local state and federal are involved in accomplishing the governors objective to assure delivery of high quality water through the bonneville municipal and industrial water system these two reports combined with the current reservoir modeling being done by the bureau of reclamation on the operation of jordanelle Jor danelle dam will contain sufficient information on which to forecast the effects of jordanelle Jor danelle reservoir on water quality conditions in the provo river and deer creek reservoir most agencies involved in these two studies look upon the management of jordanelle Jor danelle reservoir as a way of improving the water quality in deer creek reservoir at present virtually all the pollutants including some metals reach deer creek reservoir proper operation of jordanelle Jor danelle reservoir would prevent some metals from reaching deer creek reservoir slow down the sedimentation of deer creek reservoir and with proper management reduce the phosphorus load by 45 percent thus slowing down the rate of eutrophication phosphorus nitrate the turbidity problem at the outflow of deer creek reservoir probably will not be significantly impacted by jordanelle Jor danelle as that turbidity appears to be caused by anaerobic conditions in deer creek that thal thau A can be minimized through implementation of control measures cited in the two plans previously cited 80
