Relation Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; competitiveness of utah agricultural products in the local national and international markets the bonneville Bonne vitle unit has a significant impact on agriculture there are both positive and negative effects but with a net gain in agricultural values federa federal I 1 reclamation law contains provisions that are very favorable to agriculture projects no interest is charged against agriculture features and the costs to be repaicrby repaicr repaich by irrigation water users is based on their ability to pay commensurate with increased farm earnings from the new water bureau of reclamation projects within the colorado river basin states which incl inci induces uGes utah may also draw on power revenues from colorado river generators to pay major portions of irrigation features the B bonneville on neville unit plan allocates approximately 166800 acre feet of water for irrigators irrigatory of this 94500 acre feet will be for irrigation of supplemental service land and 72300 acre feet will be for irrigation of full service land 21400 acre feet will be for use in duchesne county uinta basin and 145400 in the bonneville bonnevnie basin see table 2.2 22 22 and table 1.2 12 12 on page 11 other impacts include the loss of some existing farm and ranch lands by the construction of project reservoirs and deliver systems an indirect and not fully yuliy quantifiable impact will be the continual loss of farmada farmana farmlana far farm mano mana lana lano in both utah and salt lake counties to future urban development based on the projects municipal and industrial water supply many opportunities for new irrigated cropland in addition to planned projects exist within the bonneville unit service area see table 2.2 22 22 A strong request for putting water into the cedar valley vailey vai vat ley area of utah county to irrigate a potential 50000 acres has been expressed at various variou s hearings on the conceptual state water plan the utah division of water resources is 31
