| Relation | Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; bonneville Bon nevine unit jon jordanello jordanelle Jor danelle danello reservoir water now petitioned for by the salt lake county water loafer conservancy district it is the intent of salt lake county water conservancy district and salt lake city to contract directly with the bureau of reclamation for access to the jordan aqueduct the memorandum of understanding provides that 0 e 0 both mud and SLCWCD shall be entitled to convey any volume of their own water at any time through the jordan aqueduct system 11 by having control of this aqueduct it1s its it is possible that the county conservancy district could purchase nonproject non project water from such sources as the provo city metropolitan water district the amount of water owned by the provo city metropolitan water district is a matter yet to be clarified by the state engineer however this entity apparently has firm water rights to more water than it will need for many years to fully utilize any water from the provo river whether its provo citys cites or the bute bure bureaus auis auls there would need to be storage on the river of about 150000 acre feet this storage could be in the form of a reduced version of the proposed Jor jordanelle jordanetie Jorda danelle neTie nelie nelle dam or a dam at the bates or pine valley sites the major reasons for utilizing the jordanelle Jor danelle site are to take advantage of the geotechnical geo technical knowledge already available and the reduced cost A smaller jordanelle Jor danelle project would likely still be a problem to the mining companies utah county area there are an additional 20000 acre feet to be provided from jordanelle Jor danelle reservoir to cities in utah county this amount of water would be a part of the yield of a reservoir at either of the sites previously mentioned again the matter of water rights is still an issue to be determined it may be that 90 |
