| Relation | Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; CHAPTER IV consultation AND coordination 1986 the utah state university foundation under contract with reclama tion completed a climatologic study of impacts of the proposed jordan elle Reservoir reservoirs reservoir2 reservoirl2j 2 meetings were held with the wasatch county water users association individual canal companies the utah division of water resources the wasatch county commission and the central utah water conservancy district to discuss the possibility of providing water from jordanelle Jor danelle dam to pressurize a sprinkler irrigation system in heber valley the state division of water resources is heading a study team to address different options of improved irrigation systems for the valley reclamation held meetings on a regular basis with the wasatch county commissioners to keep them apprised of current project plans and invite their input several meetings were also held with local concerned citi zens the kamas city council and the summit county commission by invitation several presentations were made during the year to various civic and government groups schools and professional groups reclamation also met with the forest service and other cooperating agencies to firm up plans for the high mountain reservoir stabilization program in october following a public review period two public hearings were held for this supplement these hearings held in heber city were attended by over 100 people with 17 speakers presenting their views of the supplement and the mai system results of this process are noted in attachment F A model display of the jordanelle Jor danelle dam and reservoir was constructed for public information purposes the model was displayed at the wasatch utah and salt lake county fairs and at the utah state fair several thousand people visited the display and discussed the project with reclamation personnel attending the display during november and december the display was placed in local businesses in heber city for public display the model was also shown at the colorado river water users association annual meeting in las vegas nevada several meetings were conducted among reclamation the central utah water conservancy district the utah department of transportation utahs congressional delegation and others to discuss the construction schedule for jordanelle Jor danelle dam the principal purpose of these meetings was to investigate the potential for an earlier construction start on onjordanelle jordanelle Jor joc danelle dam As a result of these meetings reclamation announced in october 1986 that construction on jordanelle Jor danelle dam would begin I 1 1 year earlier than had been planned summer of 1987 rather than spring of 1988 construction on the dam would proceed concurrently with relocation of the highways 88 |
