Relation Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; NATIONAL PARK SERVICE REPORT recommended agency for administration admini adamini strati on since the area lies within the uinta national forest it is assumed that the U S forest service will be responsibly for planning and developing recreational developments to serve the public at the currant creek reservoir and for subsequent administration and mainte amainte nance in accordance with the current agreement between the forest service and bureau of reclamation strawberry RESERVOIR ENLARGE enlargement KENT general description of the area location and access the bureau of reclamation proposes to locate the dam for the strawberry reservoir enlargement in section 16 of T 4 S R 10 W uinta special base and meridian this is on the main stem sten of the strawberry river near stinking springs the new site is roughly six to eight miles downstream from the existing strawberry dam the enlarged reservoir will be in the southern part of wasatch county utah etah ah U S 40 which skirts the north and northeast margins of the existing reservoir will be partially inundated and will require several miles of rerouting routing reroutings re to raise the road above the proposed maximum water elevation for the enlarged reservoir U S 40 provides direct access from salt lake city 7075 707 70 7 75 miles as well as being the main east west highway through the state the diamond fork canyon road now continues over the strawberry divide and descends to the strawberry reservoir it is a scenic connection between U S 6 50 and U S 40 and will probably be rerouted around the monks hollow reservoir U S 189 connects U S 650 6 50 and 91 between provo and heber via this beute reute provo prove is some 56 miles from the strawberry reservoir considering the size of the proposed enlargement and the convenient access strawberry reservoir could become of state significance as well as interesting to tourists on U S 40 purpose and operation of strawberry reservoir enlargement it is currently expected to use this reservoir for holdover storage of irrigation water and for power releases the maximum water surface elevation will be at 7620.8 76208 feet with a surface acreage of 19200 normal water surface elevation would be 3.3 33 33 feet lower at el 7617.5 76175 31
