Relation Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; FOREST SERVICE REPORT layout creek diversion the di diversion vergion version from layout creek to the proposed strawberry aqueduct is not on national forest land currant creek greek reservoir currant creek reservoir is in section 31 T to 1 S R 10 W and section 6 T 2 S r10 rio W uinta special base and meridian part of the reservoir area is on private land and part on national forest land there will be a reduction of grazing use amounting to 63 cow months per year on range partly receded in 1946 and 1947 194 7 access to this area is over several roads only one of which can at present be used by automobiles to advantage an access road to the currant creek reservoir will be of benefit to the forest service this benefit will be for administration purposes and for recreational use it has an estimated annual value of 5030 5050 5050 3030 the forest service has no recreation developments in the reservoir area operation of this reservoir as indicated by the operational studies will greatly stimulate recreational use of the area and will create a demand for recreational developments as outlined in the national park service report vat yat reservoir this reservoir is located in sections 26 27 and 28 township 1 north range 10 west this reservoir area covers 86 acres which are presently grazed there will be a loss amounting to a reduction of about 17 cow months grazing per year watering of stock can continue around the reservoir the area is now inaccessible for motor vehicles A road to the dam will make it accessible for fire fightingfor fighting for recreation and other forest service activities this will vail be an estimated annual benefit of 750 750 730 this reservoir will necessitate the reconstruction of three miles of trail at an estimated cost of 0 1500 j1500 the forest service does not have any recreational developments in this vicinity it is believed that when the project is completed recreational use of the area will develop this use will be of a camping nature 6
