| Relation | Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; or interim operation the exchange would be accpmplished accomplished by releasing strawberry reservoir water to utah lake to replace the provo river water held at jordanelle Jor danelle reservoir later with construction of the bonneville unit irrigation and drainage system which would include the diking of utah lake and the completion of the bonneville unit diamond fork power system the balance of 178000 acre feet of new project water would be developed including 105000 acre feet in evaporation salvage approxi pproxi app roxi mately 25000 acre feet from recycling prpject project return flowe flows flows in utah lake lap laa and the balance from utah lake spills and some additional releases from strawberry reservoir part of the water developed by the irrigation and drainage system would then be used to accomplish the exchange instead of using releases from strawberry reservoir as in the interim period the te imported strawberry reservoir water would be available for use on project lands in southern utah county juab county and the sevier river basin basing jordanelle Jor danelle could be operated permanently with strawberry resprvol reservoir i r water used for exchange however this would preclude delivery of strawberry reservoir water to southern utah county juab county or the sevier river area as described in the approved bonneville unit plan likewise the diking of utah lake alone would not develop the full potential at jordan elle reservoir because evaporation salvage in dry years is i limited by the natural low level levei of the lake strawberry reservoir maer faer water waler is is needed to accomplish the utah lake jordanelle danelle Jor reservoir exchange 244 |
