Relation Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; agardhii agard hii oscillatoria angusta phordium phormium incrustatum as the dominants domi nants in addition to these phordium phormium inundatum lyngbye lyngbya aestuarii calothrix species chroococcus species rhizocionium rhizoclonium species euglena gracilis lyngbye lyngbya species nostoc species lyngbye lyngbya aerugineo caerulea gloeocapsa species and stigeocionium stigeoclonium species should also be present and occasionally locally andor seasonally important the diatom flora to develop along the large rubble dike faces will be diverse and abundant and occur in sufficient numbers to provide a primary food base for insect and other animal life the diatoms likely to be most important on these faces if they are composed of large rubble include nitzschia inconspicua amphora perpusilla perpus illa navicula cryptocephala var veneta navicula tripunctata tripunctate var schizonemoides nitzschia amphibia nitzschia dissipata dissipate navicula radiosa radiola var tenella rhoicosphenia curvata curvate cur vata navicula tripunctata tripunctate nitzschia paleacea pa leacea achnanthes lachnanthes minutissima synedra ulna synedra acus surirella Sur irella ovalis avalis and fragilaria vaucheriae A host of other diatom species would also occur upon the dikes some of which would be locally or seasonally important these should especially include cymbella cymbiformis cymbiformis3 cymbiform is nitzschia apiculata apiculate api culata nizschia nitzschia Niz schia hantzschiana hantzsch iana bacillaria bacilluria Bac illaria paradoxa paradora par adoxa gomphonema Gomph onema olivaceum var calcarea amphora ovalis avalis var affinis alfinis af finis cocconeis Cocco neis placentula placen tula and varieties as epiphytes upon the green algal species navicula salinarum sali narum var intermedia intermedial inter media nitzschia subtilis subtilin sub tilis biddulphia laevis laevin mastogloia Masto gloia smithii smithia var lacustris lacu stris navicula tripunctata tripunctate cymbella cvmbella affinis finis alfinis af cymbella muelleri and many others in addition the dike flora will be influenced to some extent by the planktonic flora as are the floras of the rubble habitats extant in utah lake thus stephanodiscus Stephano discus species will be present as will navicula minima melosira melosina Melo sira granulata granulate gran ulata var angustissima cyclotella clotella Cv meneghinieana meneghini eana and others predicted aquatic invertebrate community the animal community on the proposed dikes assuming that rubble of various sizes will be the facing material will consist of the same species currently found in the rocky shore areas of utah lake the 378 3 78
