Relation Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; july 2 1979 memorandum to files subject response to letter of may 12 1979 from john lambert presi presl 7 dent of the beaver shingle creek irrigation company commenting on the municipal and industrial system draft environmental statement comment the need for f or supplemental water for late season irrigation has been a recurring problem within the kamas area we are respectfully request ing government agencies to provide ways and means that this can be transported transferred or delivered into the beaver creek system response the beaver shingle creek irrigation companys companas Comp anys right to 900 acre feet of deer creek reservoir water and a replacement supply to the washington and south kamas irrigation company which is now renting this water have been fully recognized and incorporated into the bonneville unit plan in addition officials of the beaver shingle creek irrigation company the city of kamas and the bureau of reclamation met on june 13 1979 at kamas and it was agreed to change the bonneville unit upper provo river reservoir modification plan to provide for keeping big elk lake as an active reservoir under the revised plan big elk lake would be rehabilitated but not stabilized changes in the plan are reflected in section A 4c ac and table A 2 in the FES these changes should provide an adequate water supply to justify construction by the beaver shingle creek irrigation company of a pipeline from the provo river into the beaver creek system 152
