Relation Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; eel een table able tabie abie 341 3 41 forecasted economic benefits under the proposed action based on potential increase in recreation angler days proposed existing instream In stream action channel structures forecasted angler use over baseline angler days per year 96020 30103 11715 annual economic benefits 2707angler 2707 angler day 2599275 814877 317126 3.13 313 313 health and safety 313.1 3131 introduction the health and safety analysis addresses potential public safety hazards and health risks during and after construction of the proposed action and alternatives the methodology used to conduct the health and safety analysis is described in appendix B section b212 the following impact topics are addressed in the analysis health and safety hazards during construction hazards related to flooding along the provo river 313.2 3132 3132 issues eliminated from further analysis the following issues were raised during scoping and elimin elamin eliminated d from fiu fin further ther analysis what would be the flooding impact of the PRRP if jordanelle Jor danelle dam spills more water than the reconstructed channel capacity what would be the flood related impacts on public safety from breaching existing dikes the proposed action and alternatives have been designed to contain 100 year flood events within their dikes consistent with standard engineering practices the existing dike system along the provo river also is designed to contain 100 year flood events it is very unlikely that future flooding along the river and spills at jordanelle Jor danelle dam will exceed the 3105 3 105 flooding and spills associated with a 100 year event danelle jordanelle Jor dam and reservoir and its spillway were designed to handle the probable maximum flood PMF PUT event for the watershed the PMF PUT pun would occur no more than about once every 1000 years based on historic hydrology if future spills and flooding exceed 100 year event levels provo river flows may cause flooding outside the 100 year floodplain flood plain and the dikes included in the proposed action and alternatives may be breached this unlikely event would not be an impact of the proposed action and alternatives since they have been designed to provide the same level of flood protection that typically occurs under baseline conditions and they would not affect the operation or capacity of jordanelle Jor danelle reservoir this EIS only assesses the potential impacts of the proposed action and alternatives 313.3 3133 3133 issues addressed in the impact analysis the following issues were raised during scoping and addressed in the health and safety impact analysis 0 how would PRRP construction activities affect public health and safety would the provo river cause flooding related public safety hazards 313.4 3134 3134 description of impact area of influence the impact area of influence for the health and safety analysis includes areas along the provo river where the proposed action and alternatives would
