Relation Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; unit is ts the largest and most comprehensive of the authorized units of the central utah project it is located in the central portion of eState thestate th the state and includes development in both the uinta and bonneville basins with a substantial diversion of water from the uinta basin to the bo bonneville nn eville basin this unit would develop about 313000 acre feet of water including about 100000 acre feet for municipal and industrial use 207000 acre feet for irrigation and about 6500 acre feet for fish and wildlife purposes power production recreation and flood control would also be project purposes bonneville Bonne donne vitle unitconstruction unit construction began in 1967 and is now about 18 percent completed the initial phase of the central utah project would be operated independently of the ultimate phase likewise the four units of the initial phase could be constructed and operated separately from each other ax 2 px the final environmental statement on the bonneville Bonne vitle unit FES 7342 73 42 42v was filed with CEQ on august 2 1973 additional discussion of the interr ginterr interrelationship elationship relationship elation ship of units of the central utah project is presented in that document the uintah water conservancy district which was established by the fourth judicial district court on november 27 1946 would be the contracting entity for and the eventual operator of the vernal and jensen units the central utah water conservancy district CUWCD established by order of the same court on march 2 1964 would be the contracting entity for and the operator of the bonneville upalco uintah and ute indian units 5 ac actions tions eions required by the federal government if after the filing of the final environmental statement onthe anthe on the jensen unit with the council on environmental quality CEQ and complet complect completion ion lon of the 30 day waiting period the secretary of the interior determines to proceed with construction of the unit there are certain actions which must be completed before construction may be initiated these actions include 1 completion and distribution of a definite plan report 2 execution of a repayment contract with the uintah water conservancy district which contract must also be validated in the courts and 3 compl cimpl completion etion ebion of water sale contracts by the conservancy district orderly completion of construction would require a timely acquisition of rights of way b assembly of design data and preparation of specifications on various features in advance of construction c negotiation of necessary operating agreements for recreation facilities and mitigation features and d appropriation and availability of funds atl alt A 11
