Relation Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; extremely low runoff years of 1931 through 1935 1960 through 1961 and 1963 and the exceptionally high runoff years 1944 1947 1950 1952 and 1962 the years 1961 and 1947 were used in the tables to represent typical low tow lou iou and high runoff conditions the US geological survey has maintained longterm long term streamftow streafflow gaging stations at a number of locations within the brush creek and ashley creek drainage basins and the bureau of reclamation has maintained some stations on little brush and ashley creeks for short term special studies the locations of the gaging stations are shown in figure C 1 runoff measurements at these gaging stations are the basis for the water supply and streamflow stream flow studies for the jensen unit the bureau of reclamation gaging station on little brush creek is located 2.2 22 22 miles upstream from the confluence with big brush creek historical records are available from april adril 1964 through september 1969 these records were extended for the 19301972 1930 1972 period of study by correlation methods US geological survey gaging station no 2620 is located approximately one mile upstream from the proposed tyzack damsite adamsite and 3.5 35 35 miles upstream from the confluence with little brush creek records for this station are available from march 1939 to the present time and were extended by correlation methods for the 19301972 1930 1972 period of study this gaging station would be inundated by tyzack reservoir but would probably be relocated upstream from the reservoir site for the purpose of continuing this longterm long term record US geological survey gaging station no 2635 located near jensen utah about 280 feet upstream from the bridge at state highway 149 was established in april 1939 and discontinued in october 1965 it was not necessary to extend the record of this station since the 27 year period is sufficiently long to represent typical hydrological conditions US geological survey gaging station no 2665 ashley creek near vernal is located 414 4 14 miles northwest from vernal discharge records are avail able from october 1911 to present this station has been operated almost continuously since its installation however it has been operated at three different locations and the final location established in october 1974 the present location is below ashley creek springs and above dry fork the main tributary of ashley creek this station is above all diversions for irrigation uses the natural flow at this gage is increased by water released from oaks park reservoir through the oaks park canal municipal water for the city of vernal and sur rounding area is diverted from the ashley gorings sorings about 1000 feet above the station C 13
