Relation Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; 0 ENVI RONMENTAL environmental n rise sww1 l ktlxr 1 ft wildlife and recreation the board of directors of the central utah water conservancy district is i cond conc concerned ein ehn e d about ab6u abau fifie the environmental and recreational emphasis of current public trends A resolution adopted by that thit board illustrates the concern by way of support for wildlife and recreation programs proposed by other government agencies resolution WHEREAS many recreation fish and wildlife benefits are to be realized in the construction of the central utah project and WHEREAS it is essential that the recreation facilities be developed concurrently with the construction theconstruction of works of the central utah project and WHEREAS construction has been completed on the starvation dam and the reservoir has been placed into use but funds are needed to complete essential and needed recreational facilities and WHEREAS construction is underway on the enlargement of the strawberry reservoir and will soon be initiated on the currant creek reservoir which are both key recreational facilities and construction of other features will follow NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the board of directors of the central utah water conservancy district does hereby request that funds be made available to the US forest service and the national park service so that the development of recreational facilities can be completed concurrently with the construction of each feature of the central utah project BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be made available to the president of the united states sec of the interior sec of agriculture director of the office of management and budget governor of the state of utah utahs congressional delegation all members of the senate and house appropriations committee and other interested parties As each phase of the central utah project is planned so are the recreational facilities planned at the same time in some instances the recreational considerations are planned funded and prepared years in advance of the construction for fon individual forindividual units of the cupthe CUP the central utah water conservancy district is concerned with improving living in utah by providing not only much needed water but also better recreational wildlife and outdoor facilities to the residents of utah au 4u ar 2r A V V 4 .4 sk A ac 4c aw 4w thousands of families annually enjoy camping facilities developed concurrently with construction of CUP units
