Relation Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; ty2 tyc A resendi resenvi r fa f4 R teina i gli lis R RESERVOIR vernat VERNAL URRAM ROOSEVELT CREEK RESERVOIR starvation RESERVOIR soldier creeh creek dam dom A DUCHESNE 77 frot0clry RA TVBFRR Y RESERVOIR 4argement R g recreational aspects of the bonneville unit substantial recreational benefits will be provided at all bonneville unit project reservoirs except the small regulating reservoirs at the project power plants the greatest recreational benefits will accrue at reservoirs in the uinta basin including the strawberry currant creek upper stillwater and starvation t reservoirs bonneville basin benefits will wiil be realized at jordanelle Jor danelle mona and hayes reservoirs utah lake and the 15 small reservoirs above kamas on the headwaters of the provo river the stabilization of these 15 reservoirs in the wasatch national forest will add greatly to the recreation potential of this heavily used recreational area non reimburs reimburse able funds were included in the project plans by the bureau of reclamation to cover the costs of building the basic recreational facilities so that they are available when the reservoirs are filled the U S forest service will finance new facilities and improvements in national forests strawberry reservoir already reknowned reknow ned for its fishing will be greatly expanded as part of the central utah project this will enable new recreational opportunities more varied and vastly superior to existing conditions this area is being recognized as having great potential not only for fishing but also for other types of outdoor activity the 290 acre currant creek reservoir north of the strawberry will provide a recreational resource of a type that is not now available in the immediate vicinity the pleasant mountain setting in the uinta national forest suitable shore line development sites and the relatively stable water surface elevation are all favorable to extensive recreational development and use currant creek reservoir should appeal to the residents of the more populous sections of utah who desire a high quality water related recreation experience
