Relation Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; irrigation & DRAINAGE SYSTEM AND DIAMOND FORK SYSTEM work performed for the irrigation and drainage system iad i&d and diamond fork system were conducted jointly therefore many of the items indicated below apply to both systems the work was divided into the following major areas plan formulation definite plan report environmental baseline inventory NEPA compliance public involvement and project administration work performed within these areas are described in more detail in the following paragraphs PLAN formulation plan formulation is a planning activity that defines the various portions of the project the purpose location and size this planning includes dams pipelines points of local supply and other appurtenances required for the project the following activities provided for preliminary reconnaissance information in determining the requirements and needs of the project preliminary reports were prepared to provide definition of the project identify the purpose resources available and opportunities the project could provide A draft of the problems and needs resource inventory project opportunities goals and objectives and water requirements reports were completed A report on evaluation criteria was also initiated which will be used to evaluate project alternatives A study was also completed of the alternatives for the project in garfield diute piute and sanpete counties technical reports on the preliminary evaluation of surface waters groundwater and project opportunities for conjunctive use were completed organized and documented study data on the sevier river hydrologic operations study and sevier river salinity study work was halted in february 1993 due to questions regarding water users future involvement in the project 14 e reconnaissance evaluations were made of alternative routing of the iad i&d systems main conveyance pipeline around loafer mountain as an alternative to tunneling through loafer mountain 0 the ia i& iad i&d D team coordinated efforts with the strawberry water users association to integrate the associations plans for modification of their distribution system with the districts plans for the main conveyance pipeline the lgb team completed computerized schedules of activities for the iad i&d system the program allows the lgb team to assign manpower to each activity and monitor the progress of the schedule and expenses environmental BASEUNE INVENTORY prior to the preparation of the environmental impact statement EIS preliminary environmental work must be performed the work will be contained in the EIS work items completed during 1993 were A preliminary reconnaissance survey of the highline canal alignments and the spanish fork river alignment to identify locations within the right of way where listedsensitive listed sensitive plant species might exist and evaluate the potential for these plant species e utes ladies tresses spiranthes diluvialis diluvialist dilu vialis field surveys on the diamond fork and spanish fork rivers off site review of wetlands and rare plant habitat along the corridor of the main conveyance pipeline 0 coordination of efforts and background studies in preparation of field survey work contacted federal and state agencies to receive input
