Relation Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; ek i fo ll 11 2 r ful FUZ a yn cooperate in such acquisition but without expense to the district one major concern brought to the board of directors during the year by the united states government water and power resources service was a review of the districts present bonneville unit repayment contract with the united states these alternatives would be one to renegotiate a new repayment contract two would be a total water service contract and three would be a combination of both repayment contract and a water service contract As a viable alternative to these contracts the district has recommended that the diamond fork power system revenues provide a greater role to help pay for central utah project facilities at the signing of this annual report the central utah water conservancy district and the united states government are still analyzing alternatives to remove repayment restrictions for the bonneville unit the environmental impact statement for the bonneville unit mal mai system has been accepted during this year and facilities that fall within this statement are to move into con st ruction status the activities of construction on the central utah project were mainly associated around the strawberry aqueduct and collection system of the bonneville unit the red fleet dam which is part of the jensen unit and the recreational facilities associated with the project with appropriation levels from the US government reaching a range which would allow construction st to proceed more rapidly the district acknowledges the congressional support as well as the total support from the governor of the state of utah appropriations for a reasonable realistic and economical program for 1981 look brighter than they have looked in the total funding of the total central utah project over the past 16 years with continued support by the citizens of utah and state and local officials the future funding picture will continue to look bright the district would like to give special recognition to the contributions made to the central utah water conservancy district and the central utah project by the following individuals 0 wallace T treffery tjeffery TJ effery jeffery deceased he served as chairman of the public affairs committee he was a dedicated and active board member he was appointed by the court when the sevier river drainage basin was annexed into the central utah water conservancy district 0 to each board member for his contributions and dedication during the year 0 the governor of the state of utah and utahs congressional delegation who have continued to provide dedicated support to the central utah water conservancy district and the central utah project As demands for water grow water from a variety of sources will be necessary to meet the projected needs of the citizens in the state of utah this district is dedicated to solving these demands for the board of directors CENTRAL UTAH WATER conservancy DISTRICT QQ joa robert B hilbert hlibert president t F
