Relation Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; part for irrigation of lands adjacent to the lake the balance of the project water in utah lake will be exchanged upstream on the provo river for water that presently flows into the lake the replaced provo river water will be stored in the new 170000 acre foot capacity jordanelle Jor danelle reservoir to be constructed about 6 miles above heber utah some of the water stored in jordanelle Jor danelle reservoir will be used for supplemental irrigation in the heber francis area but the greater part will be used for municipal and industrial purposes in northern utah and salt lake counties the municipal and industrial water will be distributed in northern utah and salt la ke counties by the jordan aqueduct system CENTRAL UTAH WATER conservancy DISTRICT the central utah water conservancy district was established on march 2 1964 by order of the fourth judicial court of utah as the legal agency to represent the people of the seven county area involved in the project the counties are duchesne juab salt lake summit uintah utah and wasatch the district administers the sale and delivery of project water operates and maintains most of the project facilities and contracts with the united states government for repayment of reimbursable costs of the central utah project REPAYMENT OF COSTS construction costs of the bonneville unit are estimated at 324000000 of this amount the central utah water conservancy district has contracted to repay 130673000 which represents all of the municipal and industrial water costs with interest and part of the irrigation costs the remainder of the reimbursable project costs will be repaid by power revenues from the bonneville unit powerplants power plants and from utahs share of power revenues accruing to the upper colorado river basin fund since benefits will accrue to the general public flood protection and recreation costs are nonreimbursable reimbursable non published by thecentral THE CENTRAL UTAH WATER conservancy DISTRICT P 0 box 1405 provo utah
