Relation Central Utah Project; Western Waters Digital Library; 4 0 X P J V aj 6j aa 4a fapp flpp lluu moow moom whiterock dam and reservoir whiterocks dam and reservoir would provide storage water for supplemental irrigation of lands in the whiterocks and uinta river areas of the uinta river releases from the reservoir would be into the whiterocks river for the rediversion downstream the reservoir would have a total capacity of 40000 acre feet of active or joint use capacity the whiterocks damsite adamsite on the whiterocks river lies in the uinta county approximately 28 miles north of roosevelt utah the damsite adamsite is accessible from roosevelt over hard surfaced US highway 40 utah highway 1 121 2 1 and graded and graveled indian and forest service roads the forest service road passes through the left abutment of the site pigeon water reservoir and diversion works the pigeon water dam and reservoir site located on the pigeon water drainage approximately 112 1 12 miles upstream from its confluence with the lake fork river will provide supplemental irrigation water to over 40000 acres of land in the lake fork area of the uintah basin through direct diversion or by exchange water stored would include runoff from lake fork river below moon lake dam spills from moon lake reservoir and runoff from yellowstone river which flows into the lake fork river above the point of diversion to the pigeon water reservoir mcguire drain reservoir the mcguire draw dam and reservoir is is located 6 miles north of roosevelt city in duchesne county utah it is an off stream site and will store water diverted from cottonwood creek the reservoir would have an active capacity of 2000 acre feet of storage and would fill more than once each year through direct releases or by exchange it will provide supplemental irrigation to land in the roosevelt area clay basin reservoir the clay basin reservoir is located approximately 25 miles north and east of duchesne city in duchesne county utah water stored would include runoff from lake fork river below the moon lake dam spills from the moon lake reservoir and runofffrom runoff from yellowstone river this runoff would be directed from the yellowstone river and conveyed to the clay basin reservoir by the existing yellowstone feeder canal or from the lake fork river by the upper lake fork canal releases from the reservoir would be into the lower lake fork canal or the dry gulch for rediversion downstream this will provide supplemental irrigation to over 40000 acres of land through direct diversions or by exchange within the lake fork and dry gulch drainage areas the reservoir reservoir would have a total active capacity of 17000 acre feet farnsworth canal rehab rehabilitation ilitation militation rehabilitation of 4 miles of the farnsworth canal to reduce water loss due to seepage would involve construction of select earth lining in the rehabilitated reaches of the canal the velocities would be reduced to protect the proposed earth lining by constructing additional drops
