Document: "Snake-Colorado Project, A Plan to Transport Surplus Columbia River Basin Water to the Arid Southwest", October, 1963, page 3
SUMMARY
Pacific Southwest Water Plan
The Pacific Southwest Water Plan, as proposed by the U.S. Department of the Interior, would provide approximately 3.4 million acre-feet per year of additional water to the Southwest.
One million acre-feet of this would be derived from a number of projects which would conserve Colorado River water presently being lost by seepage and transpiration. The total estimated cost of these conservation projects is $171 million. |
