Pipe Drainage Investigations A primary requirement of the proposed plan is to maintain adequate drainage for the Wellton-Mohawk lands under any eventuality. Under the selective pumping plan, wells in selected areas would be shut down in the winter to reduce the salinity content of the channel discharge, and these areas would then be double-pumped during the summer months while wells discharging better quality water would be shut down.
